According to ISNA, Ayatollah Seyyed Ibrahim Ra’isi on Tuesday at the opening ceremony of the 35th International Conference on Islamic Unity, appreciating the efforts and measures taken to achieve Islamic unity and rapprochement of religions said: The practical actions of the precious martyr General Qassem Soleimani and the scientific actions of the late Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Takhiri to remove doubts and deviations in the Islamic world and create unity and cohesion in the Islamic Ummah are lasting and praiseworthy.
“The Islamic Awakening, which was created thanks to the efforts of the Mujahideen and the blood of the martyrs, should not turn cold, and we should all work to preserve and strengthen it,” Raisi said.
“Today, we are witnessing divisiveness and conspiracy by the enemies of Islam in all countries of the region, including Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan, Lebanon and Yemen, and we must all try to protect the Islamic Ummah from these conspiracies,” he added.
Emphasizing that the Islamic Ummah is the only important power that the system of domination sees in itself, Ra’isi said: “The system of domination tries to weaken the components of the power of the Islamic Ummah by casting doubt and creating discord among the Islamic Ummah by using its media power.” Efficient manpower and scientists and scholars are the greatest energy, power and opportunity of the Islamic Ummah that must stand against the conspiracies of the enemies of the unity and cohesion of the Islamic Ummah.
Emphasizing the importance of attitude towards a common goal in the Islamic Ummah, the President said: “One of the important elements in the realization of the Islamic Ummah is belief in a common religion and religious values and movement and dynamism are other important elements in the realization of the Ummah.” It should not stagnate or become stagnant.

The president added: “After the collapse of the Soviet Union and the unipolarity of the world, the system of domination saw only one power against itself, and that was the great power of Islam.” Therefore, he tried to make this power ineffective in various ways, including the formation of takfiri groups among Muslims, financial support and arming them for killing and looting in the Islamic Ummah.
Raisi said: “Suspicion among the Islamic Ummah by using the media and news empire and dividing the Islamic Ummah by appointing weak states and those who seek to normalize their relations with criminal regimes such as the Zionist regime, are other actions of the regime.” Dominance is against the Islamic Ummah.

Enumerating the opportunities and necessities of the Islamic Ummah today, the President said: “Today in the Islamic world, the huge population of nearly 2 billion people, especially the young population of Muslims and believers in religion and divine values, is a valuable opportunity.” Mr. Ra’isi called the situation in the West today a second opportunity and said: “Today, the claims of the West have declined and failed over the years and perhaps centuries.
